Mafia movies captured the pubic imagination for over 50 years, from the Cagney movies up to the modern day. There have been some classic movies made in this genre, and some not so classic. My aim here is to present them, both good and bad, for your critical eye.
I decided this sub-genre of Crime movies warranted its own blog post.

The Funeral (1996)

10th & Wolf (2006)

Gotti (1996)
John Gotti, the head of a small New York mafia crew breaks a few of the old family rules. He rises to become the head of the Gambino family and the most well-known mafia boss in America. He is known as the Dapper Don for his expensive taste in suits, and the Teflon Don because none of the FBI charges against him will stick. Life is good, but suspicion creeps in, and greed, rule-breaking and his high public profile all threaten to topple him.
Casino (1995)
Greed, deception, money, power, and murder occur between two mobster best friends and a trophy wife over a gambling empire.
The Last Don (1997)
An aging Don looks after his family the best way he knows how. Unfortunately his daughter doesn't quite see eye to eye with the Don's vision of a happy family.
The Last Don 2
The old Don dies, leaving the family empire in his son's hands. With the other families seeing this new development as a weakness, how long can the new Don lead his family?
Chicago Overcoat (2009)
